Summer 2009

Hello again from BiminiRing Game Centre. Summertime is in full swing, although you would never know it by the weather in the Midwest and Northeast. Too bad! It will get better.

We have had some great competition in South Florida and the Jersey Shore. I see "Tommy "Sticks" is getting ready in E. Hanover putting in some extra time before the Ortley Beach Showdown with "Jimmy The Crypt". Possible new champ emerging. Get ready Beach Haven!

Locally, the Cruzan Rum Bar in Palm Beach Gardens is jamming with competition. World famous Square Grouper on the Jupiter Inlet also has plenty of tossers. Some pretty good and some...well they'll get better.

I have had some pretty good stories sent to me and I will be resurrecting the blog and posting them there. Send me your stories and I'll be sure to post it subject to approval. One from Bimini:

"I walked into the Complete Angler in Bimini with my husband several years ago and there was a large group of guys playing the ring toss game for money. My husband asked how much to get in the game and we were told $5. My hubby threw $5 on the floor and they told him to go ahead and shoot. He informed them that his wife would be shooting. Everyone laughed. I hooked the ring 8 consecutive times, walked away with $180 and a big smile! Of course I have been playing the ring game in Bimini for over 40 years! Unfortunately the Complete Angler is gone but the memories remain!"
Now gambling of course is illegal so we don't sanction this behavior but... You go Girl! Let's hear your stories.

We had a great run from players gearing up for Memorial Day and Father's Day. Let's keep it going. You can still get your games in time for Father's Day if you order by Thursday the 18th. Graduations are in full swing and of course the Fourth of July is so close. Don't be left without a BiminiRing Game for your picnics. These are great games for indoors or out. Poolside or basements. Basement ceilings are at perfect height in most cases. I know we celebrated a bunch of birthday parties and holidays in Uncle T''s basement. If only we were playing BiminiRing instead of darts, my cousin Joey wouldn't have that scar in his head today. Oh well!

Speaking of Memorial Day, I have to vent. I rode around my neighborhood and several other surrounding neighborhoods and was saddened by how few flags were flying that day. Even this past Flag Day June 14th, there were basically none. Now I am not a veteran of any war and was never even a Cub Scout let alone Boy Scout. My father was a proud Eagle Scout and is a WWII Veteran going strong at 89 yrs young. I know he was disappointed. In these troubling economic and political times, let's not forget who we are. Fly that Flag Proud! Fourth of July is on a Saturday this year. Fly it all weekend!! Take it in at night and put it out when you have your coffee. What better way to say "Thank You" for our freedom.

Get those orders in early. Plenty of inventory and games generally ship same day if ordered before noon. Get ready! We could be in your town looking for the best. Enjoy the summer and remember as always...Spread the Word. We're having Fun! Until next time.
